A parcel of tied land, usually shortened to POTL, is a freehold lot bound to a modest common-elements corporation, one that holds the private road, the guest parking and occasionally the water service beneath the lane. The monthly charge pays for snow clearing, lane repairs and insurance on those pieces, and it is no condominium fee in the usual sense, but it is a fixed cost and your lawyer will register your share of the corporation on closing. Many rows in Churchill Meadows, Lisgar, Hurontario and Cooksville were built this way because the city never assumed the lane as a public street. A freehold row fronting a municipal street, as in East Credit, Streetsville and the older Malton rows, carries nothing of the kind. The listing may or may not spell out which arrangement applies, so request the survey and the parcel register before your conditions expire.

West of Winston Churchill Boulevard, Churchill Meadows has the largest concentration, three-bedroom two-storeys and three-storey plans with a built-in garage from the 2000s, close to the community centre and sports park on the Ninth Line side, and to Ridgeway Plaza. Lisgar and Meadowvale Village add similar rows near Lisgar GO and the Levi Creek trails. East Credit and Hurontario carry the 1990s versions with slightly wider frontages. Streetsville's rows sit near the village shops and the GO station, and Port Credit's near the harbour and the Lakeshore West line. Cooksville, Lakeview and Dixie have the newest freehold and POTL rows on infill sites. Wherever you look, ask whether the garage is a single or a tandem and where guests park.
