Malton

Malton occupies Mississauga's northeast corner: Highway 427 to the east, the Brampton city limit and CN rail line to the north, Airport Road roughly on the west, and the CN line and Toronto Pearson International Airport to the south.

Malton's housing tells its history street by street. Victory Village, the 200 wartime homes built in 1942 and now listed on the City's heritage register, are small one and one-and-a-half storey houses on compact lots around Victory Crescent. Ridgewood, from the mid 1950s, runs along Justine Drive, Etude Drive and Minotola Avenue; Marvin Heights, from the late 1950s, takes in Redstone Road, Bonaventure Drive and Chinook Drive; and Westwood, from the mid 1960s, includes Morning Star Drive, Darcel Avenue and Dunrankin Drive. Across all three you will find brick bungalows, back-splits, side-splits and semi-detached pairs, often on 40 to 60 foot lots with long driveways, plus rental apartment buildings near Goreway Drive and Morning Star. Street names follow United Kingdom cities. Many homes carry finished basements and additions, and a meaningful share have been rebuilt or extended, so the block-to-block variety is wide. This guide covers detached and semi-detached homes only, which is nearly all of what comes to market.

Malton GO, south of Derry Road and east of Airport Road, opened in 1974 and has been rebuilt with elevators, canopied platforms and 525 parking spaces. It is on the Kitchener line, which runs weekday all-day two-way service between Union Station and Bramalea or Mount Pleasant, with weekend trains to Mount Pleasant. VIA Rail stops end on October 25, 2026. Westwood Square's terminal hosts MiWay routes 7, 11, 15, 16, 18, 22, 24, 30 and 42, the 107 Malton Express to City Centre and Humber College, Brampton Transit routes 5, 14 and 30, and the TTC's 52B Lawrence West on weekdays. Highway 427 is the eastern edge, with the 409, 401 and 407 minutes away, and Pearson's terminals are next door. MiWay and TTC transfers are free under the One Fare program.

Lincoln M. Alexander Secondary School at 3545 Morning Star Drive opened in 1968 as Westwood Secondary and took its current name in 2000 after merging with Morning Star Secondary; it had 922 students in 2022. Ascension of Our Lord Catholic Secondary School is the Dufferin-Peel high school. Public elementary and middle schools include Brandon Gate, Corliss, Darcel Avenue Senior, Dunrankin Drive, Lancaster, Marvin Heights, Morning Star Middle and Ridgewood, and Catholic families have Holy Cross and St. Raphael. Humber College's North campus is across the 427 on the 107 express. Because Malton is compact, most students walk, and Lincoln Alexander does not run school buses except for students with disabilities. Confirm catchments with the Peel and Dufferin-Peel boards before you buy, since French immersion and specialist programs are assigned by address.

Malton Community Centre at 3540 Morning Star Drive has an indoor pool, fitness centre and arena, with Malton Library inside and a makerspace added in 2022. Paul Coffey Park and Arena at 3430 Derry Road East, renamed in 2016 for the hockey Hall of Famer who grew up here, offers ice, playgrounds and sports fields. The Malton Greenway trail follows Mimico Creek from Goreway Drive to north of Brandon Gate Drive. The Malton Youth Hub, an 18,000 square foot conversion of the former Lincoln Alexander pool, serves teens with partner agencies. Victory Hall at 3091 Victory Crescent, renovated in 2010, is home to the Malton BIA. Westwood Square at 7205 Goreway Drive opened in 1968 and holds more than 80 retailers in 425,000 square feet, with grocers and restaurants reflecting the neighbourhood's South Asian and Caribbean communities. The City's Malton Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Program is drafting a local action plan for 2026.

Malton suits first-time buyers who want a detached or semi-detached house with a real backyard, and multi-generational families who need a finished basement or an addition. Airport, logistics and aerospace workers can walk or take one bus to work. Riders on the Kitchener line get all-day trains from their own station. Investors look at the semis and bungalows for their rental depth and the airport employment base. If aircraft noise is a concern for you, spend time on the specific street at different hours before you commit.
