Townhouses are Rathwood's middle option and there are many of them. Condominium complexes cluster around Fieldgate Drive and Rathburn Road East, and Rathburn carries a run of them, such as the 34-unit complex at 640 Rathburn Road East, the complex at 1755 Rathburn Road East and the 1980 complex at 1951 Rathburn Road East near Ponytrail Drive, about 100 two-storey units with three or four bedrooms, two parking spaces and a tennis court, managed under a condominium corporation registered that year. Most are 1970s and 1980s builds, so study the reserve fund and the schedule for roofs, windows and paving, and ask what the fee includes. Units with two parking spaces are a plus. Check for a finished basement, a private fenced yard and whether the complex has visitor parking. Forest Glen and Burnhamthorpe public schools and Sts. Martha and Mary Catholic school are close to the Rathburn complexes, and Garnetwood and Rathwood District parks are on the same road.
